NCsoft NorCal a software game development studio focused on creating outstanding innovative Massively Multiplayer Games (MMORPGs), is seeking an exceptional VFX Artist to work on the award winning City of Heroes franchise at their Mountain View, CA location.
This individual will be primarily responsible for the development of a large range of visual effect art assets according to the agreed design and within the constraints of the target hardware and software. These art assets include particle systems, meshes, textures, and animations.
Requirements: • 2+ years of professional VFX work for games • 2+ shipped products (games, movies, television) • Extensive experience with mesh/UV skills with specific focus on particle effects, animation and physics objects • Expertise in 3DS Max and Photoshop or Painter • Creative, proactive problem solver • Strong attention to detail • Must be able to work within style established by Art Director • Excellent communication and team skills including ability to communicate effectively with both artists and programmers • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic • Preferred: • Avid MMO player, especially of City of Heroes • Excellent lighting skills • Basic animation skills in 3DS Max
